This Music Magazine double page spread is of the band 'Black Eyed Peas', this magazine is very unique instead of having the photo of the artist focused on 1 spot of the magazine, it takes the whole left page and the last artist is mainly in the right hand page. There is a colour scheme through this spread of white, black and a light brown colour. and we see the lead singer of the group only wearing this light brown colour as the rest are seen in very dull white, black and greys. This makes him stand out and instantly gives him importance in the group, and the paragraph above the picture titles 'will he won't he' is certainly about the main artist Will.i.am. The main paragraph at the end of the right page is in very small font in black writing, so the main purpose of this magazine was not about the information but more about the photo of the artists where our eye is instantly drawn to.
This double spread is very eye catching and again seems to be more about the picture of the artist, in this case Lilly Allen, rather than the information it obtains in the paragrahs. there are 4 very small paragraphs on the bottom left of the of the double page spread, these seem to have some importance as all the image and big title are spread around it, so it almost centres the whole double page around them small paragraphs, even though they are not in the centre of the page. the main title " People think i'm an attention seeker, but i'm just honest" has been done in a very eye catching way, the style it is in is like they have cut each letter out of another magazine or newspaper, it steriotypically represents young girls who would do the same in their diarys and it is also a quote so it seems more to be out of a girls diary, who in this case would be the artist on the right Lilly Allen. the colour scheme that goes through the spread is red, black and white, this makes the red seem to stand our more as balck and white are very dull colours, so it makes Lilly Allen  more eye catching so readers will straight away be able to identify what the spread is about.
This spread is about florence from the band 'florence and the machines'. the colour scheme through out is mainly black and red but there is also touches of grey in the spread. The information is on the right of the page so it seems to come second after the image, so instantly our eyes are drew to the image of the artist sat on what seems to be a box with black and red striped sheet over it, which appears to be the american flag. this links to the large writing which goes across the 2 pages which says 'USA', which shows that this magazine is an american magazine aimed mainly at the american audience.

Music magazine contents page research

This magazine contents page is very dull and seemingly boring by using the dull colours black, grey and white, but a small amount of red has also been used which is very eye-catching. It is of a red heart being held by another person, which appears to be a woman’s arm, holding the red heart above Kanye west heart, this could be a metaphor for his heart being held or stolen by someone else. The contents information is on the right of the page in very short font, so we immediately see that the actual information is not as important as the picture of the artist Kanye West. The mast-head “contents” has been split up into 3 separate lines almost making it 3 separate words, this is very eye catching and almost a puzzle so it could be a bit entertaining.

This contents page uses the contistant colours of black & white. the title has been split into 3 separate lines, this is very eye catching as it almost seems as a puzzle so automatically pushes the reader to read it. the image is of a woman, famous hip hop singer Ciara, lying down with her legs up, this is a sexual image used to target fashion icons. the actual contents is in small on the right hand side in black, so it seems at the importance of this contents page is not the information it holds, but the image of a famous woman.

Music Magazine cover Research

This magazine has used the traditional contrasting colours black and white but have also included in red to make it more appealing and eye catching. The mast-head is in sans-serif in capital red font, this is very appealing as is stands out from the rest of the page, only a Small usage of red has been used so anything in red stands out more than anything written in black, for example the in the cover lines, the heading that stands out the most is "Strips down" and "10+ pages etc". The cover lines on the left are all about Beyonce who is seen in the middle of the magazine, a very beautiful woman who is appealing to men so this hip hop magazine can almost certainly be mainly aimed at men. The Sell line is of just 4 very popular and famous hip hop/R&B artists: Ne-Yo, Rich Boy, Kelly Rowland and Fabolous. these artist are all seen in the same font and style as the title but in black, so it separates it from the master-head.

This is another Magazine from the same company, is has used the same font ans style for the Mast-head and Sell line. the colour scheme used is similar, simply the black has been replaced with blue. it uses the same concept of using a single colour to highlight the most important parts in both the mast-head and the cover line, in the cover lines the colour white has been sued to highlight very famous hip hop artists T.I and Jay-z, this helps the magazine catch peoples eye and appeal more to is audience against its competition. this magazine has included a very unique cover line which is a blackberry Friend request bar code, so people can scan this bar code with their blackberry's and will have vibe as a friend on blackberry, this is very good for promotion and advertisement as "Vibe" as a company can then go on a advertise new products and promotions to its audience.

This 'VIBE' magazine like the top 1 has re-introduced the colour scheme of Red, Black and White. but it has also put in touches of gold, this makes the magazine seem as though it has more to offer, as if each colour is something different the magazine has to offer. unlike the other VIBE magazines, this 1 has included the bar code on the front of it, and has not put a sell line on it. there are less cover lines in this magazine, there seems to only be 1 on the left in very large writing, so it seems to be the sub-heading and has a link to the main title. this magazine is published to be about the famous rapper T.I we see him in the centre with his name next to him in the cover line on the left, this immediately help the audience identify him and attracts potential customers. his clothes almost seem to disappear into the back ground, the white is very similar but the black untied bow tie which adds conflicts in the colour and makes it stand out more.

This Vibe magazine has a strict colour scheme through out, it uses yellow, white and black. The mast-head is the same as it is in all Vibe magazine, at the top going across the whole page in the colour that stands out the most, in this instance it is in white. The image is in the centre of the page and like in many other Vibe magazines the black clothes the artist 'Drake' is wearing is the same as the black background, so it makes the  magazine and the picture come together as one. The writing on the Artists top that says 'Unstoppable' in capitals is very eye catching and promotes the artist. the cover lines are in yellow and white, these 2 bright colour go together so it makes them stick out a lot compared to the black background, so if seen on a shelf amongst competing magazines, this edition would be extremely eye catching. the bar code is vertically in a box on the bottom left along with other writing which seems to be extra cover lines which would appeal to a small minority of its target audience, they have put this too the side so the magazine doesn't have a contrasting target audience therefore the main target audience can be targeted.
